LAS VEGAS (KSNV News3LV) — Nearly 1,000 cyclists are taking part today in Ride 2 Recovery.
The ride is designed to benefit veterans and first responders suffering from injuries in the line of duty and PTSD.
They started shortly after 9 a.m. from the Rock in Rio parking lot at Sahara and Las Vegas Boulevard. The event is a self-paced, non-competitive cycling event and participants ride down the Strip and through Las Vegas.
The rides will finish where they started.
News 3 chief meteorologist Kevin Janison served as the emcee for the morning events, while News 3 reporter Christy Wilcox participated as a rider.
Ride 2 Recovery is dedicated to restoring hope and purpose for our nation's injured veterans and first responders.
They provide life-changing, community and cycling-based recovery services for healing heroes at no cost to them, even building adaptive bikes to allow severely injured veterans to participate in the events.
