ABOUT THE RIDE
Join us for the 10th annual UnitedHealthcare California Challenge, where we will ride 450 miles of stunning beaches and landscape from the San Fransisco VA to the West Los Angeles Medical Center. This is one of the most challenging of the Project Hero events, with a climb up Stagecoach Pass followed by fast descents.

Travel down the beautiful and scenic Highway 1 while enjoying stunning views of the Pacific Coast at every turn! The Pacific Ocean will be off your right shoulder as you head south through great cities like Santa Cruz, Salinas, San Simeon, Pismo Beach, Solvang and Ventura. The ride will depart from the San Fransisco VA and finish at the West Los Angeles VA.
This ride is a Category "A" (Difficult)

PARTICIPATION
The rides will be limited to 150 participants with a minimum $4,000 fee to cover your costs. There is an active duty military or VA employee discount of 50% ($2,000 required fee). Your $80 registration will be applied to the total you raise.

All Wounded Warriors and First Responders ride for free by invitation only and must register to be considered for invitation. See below for invitation criteria.

Full week Challenge participants will receive a Project Hero jersey, bib, socks, and t-shirt, as well as hotel housing, rider support, luggage transportation (70lbs max), daily route guides, marked course, rest stops, hydration and meals. Participants are responsible for transportation to and from the event. There may also be nighttime entertainment on selected evenings.

ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST REGISTER ONLINE!  Wounded Warriors and First Responders, please note that your online registration does not guarantee you a slot on the ride. Participation is by invitation only. Contact your Project HERO Manager with any questions.
