The 2018 season kicks off with our annual trip to the Gulf Coast.  This year we are reviving the classic 2013 course, but with an exciting twist, we are going from East to West. Starting in Tallahassee, FL and heading to historic New Orleans, LA, with legendary stops at the USS Alabama and Gulfport Soldiers Home.

This ride is a Category: Easy (Least Difficult)

Full week Challenge Events  will be limited to 150 participants. Selected participants will receive a Project Hero jersey "Challenge" jeresey and bib, socks, and t-shirt, as well as housing, rider support, luggage transportation (50lbs max), daily route guides, marked course, rest stops, hydration, nutrition and meals. There may also be entertainment on selected evenings.

All Wounded Warriors ride for free by invitation only and must register to be considered.  See below for invitation criteria.

A $4,000 fee/fundraising minimum to cover the cost of the ride applies to all public riders. There is an active duty military, non-injured veteran, or VA employee discount of 50%. The required $80 registration fee will be applied towards your fundraising minimum.

To participate in the Challenge, please select your participation type at the top to begin your registration. Please note that your online registration does not guarantee you a slot on the ride. Participation is by invitation only for all to attend. Contact your Project Hero Manager with any questions or info@projecthero.org.

Invitational criteria may be based on one or more of the following:

1. Category (difficulty) of the ride

2. Participant's ability to successfully complete the ride

3. Participant's past history on Challenges

4. Participation in Project Hero Community Centers and/or Project Hero Strava Club

5. Amount raised through rider page

Based on the above criteria, all participants will receive either an invitation email or waitlist email. Invited participants will have one week to confirm participation before moving to the waitlist. With limited spots, participants on the waitlist will fulfill any spots that open along the way.

Unable to join us for the entire ride? Come share the road with us as a single day rider! Single day riders receive a t-shirt, Project Hero "Challenge" jersey, mechanical support, and hydration/nutrition. Registration is $125 per day for you to join Project Hero on the road. Space is limited, so please register early to guarantee your spot.

All volunteers and caregivers must register online. If you are interested in volunteering or joining us as a caregiver, please sign up here. A Project Hero staff member will reach out to confirm your participation and role.  Please note that signing up as a  volunteer or a caregiver does not guarantee you a spot on a Challenge. Volunteers and caregivers are chosen based on specific needs for each ride. Please contact us with any questions at info@projecthero.org.

What is a rider page you ask? A rider page is created for all participants who have registered for this Challenge as a way to share their Project Hero journey and raise funds to support Project Hero and its participants. You can log into your 2018 rider page to start sharing HERE. You can also search for a rider by name and donate directly to their page, helping them reach their fundraising goal. To find your rider page or to donate to a rider, please visit the “search for a rider page”.

To login to access your 2018 rider page, please LOGIN HERE. Note: You must FIRST REGISTER with the buttons above to have a rider page.
