Day 6: 2017 UnitedHealthcare Memorial Challenge Blog

Presented by Boeing
June 3, 2017

Our final day of the 2017 UnitedHealthcare Memorial Challenge presented by Boeing completed one of the most enjoyable Challenge experiences we have ever enjoyed.
Today’s ride took us under sunny skies with an ocean breeze on a 32-mile course through Virginia Beach including riding through Fort Story.  We were honored to be joined on the ride by Lars Gert Lose, the Danish Ambassador to the US.

Special thanks also go the riders who participated in our second HEROTrak study.  Following the success of the HEROTrak on the Texas Challenge, the Texas A&M team improved aspects of the device, which will help them analyze more data and implement additional improvements for the HEROTrak at the Great Lakes Challenge in August.
The 2017 UnitedHealthcare Memorial Challenge presented by Boeing was a success due in large part to the dedicated and patriotic American Legion riders who helped keep us safe on the roads every day, police and sheriff who escorted us through towns big and small, the great staff of Project Hero, our sponsors, and as always and especially, our dedicated and courageous participants.

We’ll see you In Minneapolis for the 2017 UnitedHealthcare Great Lakes Challenge starting August 6!
