HUB Update

During the winter, the cold weather never stopped HUB City of Renoin getting in some miles! On top of their weekly rides, they had a strong showing for the Greater Sacramento Area Honor Ride. Most recently, they came together and volunteered for the American Red Cross’s “Sound the Alarm” campaign installing fire alarms in homes across the greater Reno area.

Participants from the HUB Inland Empireand the surrounding Southern California area competed in the Pace Bend Ultra 2019. Abbie Johnson, Jamie Hamon, Beth E. King and Mark Weidhase came together to find hope, resilience and recovery through an epic 24-hour race. Their support crew included Alan King, Tammy Hamon, Anna Warnholtz, Dante King, Gibbs, Kona and Fritzi. The crew completed 397 miles in 23 hours, 51 minutes and 7 seconds. Most recently, Inland Empire HUB hosted their annual Comedy Fundraiser where folks enjoyed a night of laughs and good food while Mark rode 70 miles on a trainer.

HUB Jacksonvillenot only keeps the wheels moving, but also keeps everyone engaged with non-cycling veteran activities, such as Vets4Vets meeting, employment & educational opportunities.

Whether it was indoor on the trainers or riding through the cherry blossoms in DC or to National Harbor, the weather never stopped HUB Walter Reedfrom getting in some miles. They were also fortunate enough to stop at some monuments along the way.

HUB Las Vegasis staying active! Mixing it up occasionally by taking cycling from the road to mountain biking, the group rides keep growing and growing! They instilled a little friendly competition through Strava and boosted moral and camaraderie through the winter months.

Good job everyone!
